Radial linear artifacts are visualized on computed tomographic (CT) images of pulmonary vessels, whereas pulmonary nodules are usually not associated with these artifacts. In vitro evidence indicates that pulsation of an object of relatively high density compared to surrounding structures enhances production of these artifacts.
