By combining emerging technologies and in response to the need for noninvasive measurement of fetal and placental oxygenation, Wedegärtner et al demonstrate that 3-T BOLD MR imaging can be used to depict changes in fetal sheep organ oxygenation induced by maternal hypoxia.

Bias is a ubiquitous and insidious problem in research study design and execution, and while no study design is exempt from bias, some are more prone to particular types.

Although it is difficult to measure the subjective attributes that constitute excellent professionalism and communication skills and thus result in an outstanding radiologist, in our opinion, those departments that develop programs that stress the importance of these skills and create measures that motivate positive department behavior will be the most successful.

We believe that a large fraction of women who actively participate in routine screening mammography would prefer a higher recall rate if it resulted in even a small increase in the probability of earlier breast cancer detection.

Given the considerable rate of upgrade to either atypical ductal hyperplasia or ductal carcinoma in situ (26%) found for all patients with excised benign papillary lesions in our study, we recommend excision of all benign papillary lesions of the breast diagnosed with core-needle biopsy.

The accuracy values achieved for classification of stenosis with findings at MR angiography compared with those for classification with findings at digital subtraction angiography were fairly low in our study, with a value of 56.4% for the gadodiamide group and 52.8% for the gadopentetate group, because a single dose of 0.1 mmol/kg was too low to obtain sufficient contrast enhancement of smaller abdominal and iliac arteries.
